Managers
Paulette, our technical staff manager has been with Bijou animal Hospital since 1984. She is a certified veterinary technician and enjoys every part of veterinary medicine. Her love of animals and compassionate care comes through in her work every day. She has a soft spot in her heart for all animals but cats are her true love( especially Burmese). If you want to meet Paulette bring a kitten to the office, she will be first in line to spread the love, or bring French fries, that's her second love! She shares her home with her Burmese, and her Schipperke, Cherub.
Missy, our client services manager, started with Bijou Animal Hospital in 2011. She came from a extensive background in retail management but has always loved animals and was excited when her career path turned that way. She enjoys veterinary medicine but her favorite part is connecting with the many animals and their humans that come to Bijou Animal Hospital. Outside of work Missy loves spending time with her family, friends, and her array of fur babies. She enjoys gathering with her friends and family, and loves planning the party. She is active in many volunteer programs that her church offers. Her true love is her daughter Marrissa, who makes every day worth while and exciting! She shares her home with her husband, daughter and her small menagerie of dogs ,cats, rabbits and pot belly pig named Ginger!

Afton started with Bijou in June of 2024 working with the pet care team. She is part of Bijou's Compassion Commitee, which means she helps plan and execute staff activities to help battle compassion fatigue. She is currently in school for Zoo keeping/Zoology. Afton loves all animals of all shapes and sizes. She currently shares her home with Toby Cobain, a long hgaired chihuahua and Yogurt Jackson, a corgi mix. When she is not at work or school Afton enjoys hiking with her fur babies, going to concerts, drinking coffee and getting tattoos.

Carolyn moved to Colorado Springs from California in 1993. She started at Bijou Animal Hospital in July of 2001. Carolyn's best friend is her daughter Ari, and with her husband, Andrew, they have five dogs and 1 cat. She also enjoys taking care of freshwater fish, with discus fish being her favorite. She helps keep the aquarium in the Bijou waiting room looking beautiful. She loves all animals, but especially boxers, they're her favorite♡ Carolyn loves everything about working at Bijou and couldn't imagine being anywhere else.

Michelle has been working at Bijou since 2008 as a Certified Veterinary Technician. Michelle is originally from California. She loves all animals great and small. Michelle has three cats, a dog and a husband at home. She would someday like to have a goat and a horse. As a technician she enjoys taking x rays, assisting with surgeries and performing dentistry's. Outside of work Michelle loves to travel and go to wildlife parks. Michelle loves arts and crafts and she is also a Stampin' up demonstrator for fun.

Asa was born and raised in Sweden. She has been in the USA since 1995 and in Colorado since 2003. Asa has worked with Bijou since 2008 starting out in pet care and then currently working as a veterinary technician assistant. She loves animals and as a child she wanted to be a veterinarian, but life took a different path and in 1991 she graduated college with a degree in early childhood education. She has four adult human children that are her world, and three furry cat children that her and her fiancé Tony share their home with. "I love working here!"- Asa

Sam started at Bijou in June 2020 working with the pet care team. A Colorado native she loves taking advantage of all the amazing hiking opportunities she can. She is an avid wolf enthusiast, she even thought she was a wolf as a child. When she is not enjoying the outdoors she likes to be artistic. She enjoys drawing, panting, & sculpting. She is currently going to school to get a veterinary technician. She would also like to run a rescue someday. Chris started with Bijou Animal Hospital in 1987 as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She has spent most of her life in Colorado Springs but as a child her dad was military so she traveled a lot. She has a special love for cats but orange kitties are her favorite. If you are a orange kitty you can get away with next to everything! Chris enjoys all aspects of being a technician but her favorite part is drawing blood and working the laboratory. In her free time Chris likes watching football especially the Denver Broncos.

Khristin started with Bijou animal hospital in June of 2009 as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She originally is from California and was going to school in Kansas where she earned her associate degree. During the summer as a camp counselor in Colorado she fell in love with her now husband and this beautiful state. Soon after she transferred schools and graduated from the Colorado Mountain Colleges Veterinary Technician Program. The best part of her job is fostering the human animal bond and she most enjoys phlebotomy and analyzing lab samples. Outside of work Khristin enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends. She loves all things creative and crafty, including digital art, paper crafts, and crochet just to list a few. Once her mind is set, she can do anything! She shares her home with her husband and their 3 cat kids, Yoru and Raava (litter mates) and newest edition, Lome.

Jesse started with Bijou Animal Hospital in March of 2019 as a receptionist. We quickly gave him a nickname as J.D. (because we already have a Jessie) and it was his first nickname ever. He has lived in Colorado his whole life and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. He shares his home with his wife Alyssa who has been his high school sweetheart since 2012. J.D. and Alyssa have 6 fur babies. They have 2 special needs dogs, Bandit and Beanie, 5 cats named, Una, Mystique, Potato, Johnny, and Radar. J.D. loves working here and the work family he has found. "I don't think there is any place I would rather be!"

Caitlynn was born and raised in Ohio but moved to Colorado in 2009. She
started with Bijou Animal Hospital in August of 2024 as part of our Pet Care team. Her love for animals and passion for veterinary medicine has led her into looking into pursuing a degree in veterinary technology.Caitlynn has a deep passion to help all animals. In her time away from Bijou she loves weightlifting, camping, hiking, and reading. |
Annalissa started with Bijou in November of 2020 as a kennel attendant and then was promoted to a technician assistant. She was born in California and moved to Colorado Springs in 2008 to attend PIMA to get her certificate in Veterinary Assisting. She met her husband Abner while here and they now call Colorado their home while they are raising their three beautiful kids, daughter Alicia, son Liam and daughter Aliza. Their family is made complete with Turbo, a terrier mix, Nala a long haied frenchie, Mr. Kitty and Mr. Paw Paws, their 2 kitties, and a cute guinea pig named Oreo. Annalissa has always loved animals and she knew that working with them is what she was meant to do.

Kaylee started at Bijou in July of 2023 as a receptionist. She loves animals and has always dreamed of working with them. Kaylee is originally from Texas and moved to Colorado in 2010. She lives with three dogs Kensi, Rylee and Hercules, and 2 cats named Apocalypse (Paco for short) and Maraschino (Mars for short). In her time away from work Kaylee loves to read thriller books, draw, and hike.

Amber M was born and raised in Colorado Springs. She graduated from APEX College of Veterinary technology in December of 2021 and started with Bijou in January of 2022. She has always been an avid animal lover and has always had a wide variety of animals from your normal cats and dogs, to bunnies, hamsters, fish, a frog, horses, and birds. She currently has four dogs and four sugar gliders. She loves being able to work with animals as a career. Amber spends her free time reading, watching T.V., spending time with her family, bowling, playing poker and building her side business. Her greatest love is traveling. She doesn't care how. Plane, car, train, boat, it doesn't matter as long as she is on her way. Amber's favorite place so far to visit has been Paris!

Amber R started with Bijou in August of 2022 as a Veterinary Assistant after doing a internship with us. She graduated with a certificate in Veterinary Assisting from Pikes Peak State College. She has a background in Wildlife Biology and years of experience in avian field research. She moved to Colorado in 2019 from North Carolina with her husband Zack. In her free time she enjoys hiking and camping with her husband, daughter, and their 2 fur babies, two dogs named Zoey, who they rescued here in Colorado, and Sasha, who her husband rescued while deployed in the Ukraine.

Lace started with Bijou in July of 2022 with our Pet Care Team. They moved from California to Colorado in 2003 and calls Colorado home. Lace has two cats named Margaret and Igor and a Mini Aussie named Kora. Lace loves to cook especially asian food with a vegetarian/vegan flare and loves art and drawing and is working on getting some pieces published. They do amazing artwork and animal portraits are their specialty.

Whitney moved to Colorado Springs from Missouri in 2022 with her husband, Chris, and 5 other family members: 2 cats- George and Millie, 2 dogs- Suli and Kona and 1 Crested Gecko named Floki. Artie and Draven (kitten siblings) have since joined the fam and, sadly, George and Millie have passed but are always treasured. Whitney has a background in Wildlife Biology but later discovered that veterinary medicine was the career path for her. She joined Bijou as a licensed technician in March of 2024 and is thrilled to work with such a great team. She enjoys bird watching, collecting antiques and attending concerts outside of work.

Taylor Moved to Colorado in 2006 from the east coast. Being from a military family she lived in Maryland, North Carolina, and Virginia. She has always had a love and passion for animals and always knew she wanted to work with them. Taylor worked at a wildlife rehabilitation center during the summer. There she got to work with the likes of orphaned squirrels, raccoons, and birds. In her time away from work Taylor likes to read, crochet, play video games, hike, and travel with her husband.

Erica was in the army for 5 and a half years. She graduated from Penn Foster college in 2014 where she got her Veterinary Technician degree and started with Bijou in September of 2019. Her favorite part of being a vet tech( aside from helping animals) is surgery. Due to being in the Military Erica has lived in several locations, but is settling with her 3 kids, 4 dogs, 4 ferrets. bearded dragon, and Axolotol, in her home state of Colorado. On her free time she enjoys Goat yoga, the occasional climb up the incline and spending time with her dogs and kids.

Analicia (Ana for short) is born and raised in Colorado Springs. She started with Bijou as a receptionist in January of 2025. She graduated Coronado High school in May of 2025 and will continue her education at Pikes Peak State college working towards a degree in business. She loves to fill her time outside of school and work with art. Ana loves to paint, play music with her trumpet and saxophone, and is really into special effects makeup art. Other than art she loves going on walks with her Rottweiler Roxi. She shares her home with Roxi, and two American Staffordshire Terriers named Choji and Hannabi.

Alexis, Lexie for short, started as an intern at Bijou Animal Hospital in 2023 while completing her Veterinary Assistant Certificate at Pikes Peak State College. She was born and raised in Colorado. Lexie has 3 dogs: Nawla, Lola, and Luna. In her free time she loves to travel, read, attend concerts and spend time with her family. Lexie’s favorite country that she has visited so far is Morocco!

Liz started with Bijou in July of 2025 as a receptionist. She went to school and worked as a medical assistant for many years and realized her happiness is on the animal side of medicine. She grew up in a military family and was born in Virginia, grew up in San Diego, and ended up coming to Colorado when she was 16. When she is not at work she loves going to Colorado Avalanche games and is a huge hockey fan. She loves to spend time traveling and hanging out with her dogs' Max and Krispy Kreme.

Megan is a Colorado native who started with Bijou in March of 2025. Before Bijou she managed a doggy daycare and boarding facility and has a deep love for dogs. She has always been passionate about the health and welfare of animals. Her fur baby is her dog Morgan, and she is also “mom” to her Leopard Gecko named Pat. Megan is starting school this fall working towards her veterinary technician degree. When Megan has free time she loves hiking, camping, reading, and finding rocks and bones to add to her collection. Megan hopes to ease pet and parent anxiety while they are in office by bringing her best at each interaction.

Danika joined Bijou as a receptionist in July 2023. A Colorado native, born and raised, she loves spending time outdoors, especially camping with her family. Her son Elijah is the center of her world and she prioritizes family above all else, as it’s what brings her the most happiness. Looking ahead Danika’s biggest goal is to continue growing her family, and she’s excited about the possibility of having more children in the future. Her love for family extends to her fur babies as well. Danika has 2 dogs, Betty and Daytona, and 3 cats, Zativa, Zorra, and Zyla, all of them mean everything to her. Danika is also known for her love of snacking. If snacking were an Olympic sport, she’d be a gold medalist. Pets seem to adore her too, and we suspect it might have something to do with always smelling like food.

Tarin started with Bijou Animal Hospital in December of 2025 and is a dedicated veterinary technician. After 13 years as a cosmetologist, she knew she needed to follow her true calling of helping animals. Tarin graduated in 2019 with her Veterinary Technician degree and started her career in veterinary medicine. Blending her customer service skills with a deep love for animals, Tarin is devoted to always providing compassionate care for her furry patients and their pet parents. At home, she’s a proud dog mom to Panda, Hedwig, and Oakley, and when she’s not tending to animals, you’ll find her crocheting or getting lost in the pages of a book. She cherishes her family and every moment she gets to spend with them.

Thomas came to Bijou in March of 2026 starting with us in pet care. He grew up in North Carolina and helped his dad raise English and Irish Setter's, helping train them as bird dogs. He moved to Colorado in 2001. In 2022 he decided he needed to make a career change and follow his passion by working with animals again. In Thomas's spare time he enjoys the Colorado outdoors and loves hiking, mountain biking, hunting and fishing.
